About Us
Our Story
South Ridge Bluegrass's established in 2008 and has been going strong ever since. We are four friends whose love sharing our music with friends and making new friends while we play. With a variety of influences we play a mix of songs all done in a bluegrass style ranging from traditional, original and a few pop songs, too. We are available for all types of venues and although we play mostly in central North Carolina, we will occasionally extend our boundaries. Band members are Gregg Davis- guitar and vocals, Huey Priest- Banjo, Johnie Marion- bass and vocals, Steve Creed-mandolin and vocals.
What Inspires Us
Inspiration can be found in a variety of places and you have to be ready to grasp it when it presents itself. As we explore acoustical music we like to stay true to the genre of bluegrass and will sometimes push the boundaries a little.
Our Influences
Our musical influences are varied and include, but are not limited to Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, John Denver and the Eagles.
